This Lower Intermediate French evening course is the follow-up to Beginner's French. However, you are welcome to join this course even if this is your first time registering with us. You will just need to contact me so that I can assess your level.

 

This course runs over two terms that progressively build on one another and is aimed at people who have done around 30 hours of intensive learning.

 

Lessons take place once a week on Tuesdays for two hours at the Palmer-Tomkinson Centre, Longslade Community College in Birstall, Leicester.

  

Places are limited as there is a maximum size class of 8 students, so please do register early to avoid any disappointment.

 

Specific topics include: Talk about past activities, express agreement and disagreement, expressing emotions, talk about TV and social media, phone manners and making arrangements, describe last holidays, talk about the weather and seasons, describe someone's appearance and personality, talk about past trips abroad, making a purchase, expressing health problems; asking for help,...

 

Grammar structures: Perfect tense with to have, to be and with reflective verbs (Se lever, s'occuper de…); direct and Indirect pronouns (him, her, them / to him, to her, to them); "y" pronoun; comparatives (more than, less than); should/could/would like; imperative; recent past and near future (venir de +infinitif / aller +inf.); Imperfect; relative pronouns (qui, que, dont); future tense (will); adverbs; impersonal verbs (falloir, pleuvoir…); conditional (would); can/want/must/fancy; complex interrogatives (depuis quand, avec qui, pour quel…); Consolidation of imperfect vs perfect tense; consolidation of imperative, future and conditional; superlatives; "si" clause (if); introducing the pluperfect (if I had done …) + conditional perfect (I would have done …)

In order to register for the term(s) you are interested in, please contact me and I will email you an enrolment form to be downloaded, completed and send back to me along with a booking fee of £50 to secure your place.

 

 

 

A non-refundable booking fee of £50 must be paid at the time of application for the term that you take. That term's course fees, minus the £50 booking fee, must then be paid no later than 1 week before the start date of your term. Following that, the fees for each term must be paid in full no later than 1 week before the start of that term. 

Requests to withdraw from the course must be made in writing no less than 1 week before the start of the term that you are withdrawing from in order to receive a refund of that term's fees, minus the £50 booking fee if applicable. No money will be refunded for requests made less than 1 week before the term start date regardless of attendance on the course.

Booking fee will be refunded should the course be cancelled.
